Assessment Update for 2019-2020
The state has approved a new universal screener for reading.  We will no longer use MClass as our tool. As we are updated, we will provide you information.  I have included more information in an email.

Technology Barcode Update- THIS THURSDAY!!
Please have all of your devices on the yellow paper before you leave for the summer.  Your leadership chair needs to see Elizabeth on Monday to pick up your team’s yellow papers and explanation of the process.  Items to include on the paper, but please look over the document to be sure there is something else I am forgetting:
Laptop (pick up your laptop after Thursday)
Chromebooks
iPads (out of cases)
Document cameras
Kindles

Please include your staff notebook on your yellow paper!!!

SIP Chair Members-  Please work with your team and nominate who your team would like to represent at the SIP team for the 2019-2020.  This does not have to be a rotation of who is up. We are looking for a team member that is passionate about school improvement, would be a great voice to represent your team and someone that can bring the information back to the team members.  Please submit ASAP!  We currently have received K, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.  

We will meet as a SIP team tomorrow at 7:45.

Science Replacement stuff
Please be sure you review your needs for your science curriculum.  I am organizing a list of things now. Once you get your list, please check to be sure the materials are not already in the upstairs workroom.

Celebration of Literacy
WCPSS Academics Literacy and Office of Equity Affairs will host a Celebration fo Literacy on June 18, 2019.  During this event you will have the opportunity to meet authors, enjoy appetizers, bet a book autographed, and learn about local community literacy programs.  You must register to attend this event. Data and Accountability 
The Data, Research, and Accountability staff produced the attached DRA FOURcast on Educational Practice Guides as a resource identifying evidence-based best practices in a number of areas for teachers and school administrators.  This DRA FOURcast was adapted from documents developed by the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) and contains practical recommendations on how to use these guides.  In the DRA FOURcast we explain the “Why,” “What,” and “How” of practice guides and links are provided to resources for learning about and accessing the guides from the WWC site. Also, visit our INTRAnet site to read additional DRA FOURcasts or to find professional learning opportunities.

Project Wet Educator Workshop

CELEBRATIONS!
  • Cindy for helping organizing all the subs each and every day!  
  • Intro to Stage’s “Singin in the Rain” was fantastic!!  Way to go Mrs. Spiggle and Mrs. Kellie!!!! Your classes were amazing!
  • Mallory organized the Volunteer Tea!  Thanks to everyone who helped! Those who helped set up, provide food, decorate and clean up SUPER THANK YOU!  A special thank you also goes out to Elizabeth for all of her vision and help!
  • First three days of EOGs are complete! Way to go Jen and Mallory. Thank you to all of the people that have helped out the first few days.

eSchools
If you have not heard, we are transitioning away from eschools in June!  At your earliest convenience, please do the following:
-  complete ANY AND ALL evaluations within eschools
-  after all evaluations are complete, please PRINT your transcript!  

Eschools will not be accessible after June 30th! I am sure they are hoping everything will transfer over, but having your transcript will be back-up if something happens.    

The new platform will not be available to register on until July 15th.  If you have a specific course you need to take, please see me.

EOY Picnic
Saturday, June 8th- End of Year Picnic at Park 12:30-2:30pm. Location-Greystone Indoor Park. This is a drop in style event where kids/significant others are of course welcome! There is a link below to sign up for food. We are thinking heavy appetizer type lunch food items, desserts, and any paper products you are willing to donate. It is BYOD (obviously your drinks have to be non-alcoholic). We are looking forward to this fun event! Picnic Sign up

EOG Dates Reminders
  • We have arrived to testing week!  Starting Wednesday our Unicorns will be rocking the EOGs and EXTEND 1 testing!  We totally got this! Check the testing information here
  • Monday June  3rd- 5th grade ELA
  • Tuesday June 4th- 5th grade Math
  • Wednesday June 5th- 5th grade make ups
Administrators may pick up their buckets starting at 8:15am each morning.  Please Remember NO TECHNOLOGY is allowed in the testing rooms (teachers and students SMART watches included).

Summer Writing Institute:  Due to popular demand, we are offering for the 3rd year in a row the Teacher Summer Writing Institute from June 17-21st at Carroll Middle School.  Please share this opportunity and Teacher Summer Writing Institute with classroom teachers at your school.  We have 50 spots available. First come first served!
